Schengen 90/180-Day Calculator
Count your days in the Schengen area: how many of your 90 you've used, how long your next trip can be, and the date you must leave by.
Your stays in the Schengen area
Past trips in the last 180 days, and any you've planned. The days you enter and leave both count.
Leave blank for today.
This applies to short stays without a long-stay visa or residence permit. Some nationalities and bilateral agreements have different rules — check official guidance before you travel.

How the 90/180 rule works
Visitors on a short stay may spend at most 90 days in any 180-day period in the Schengen area. The 180 days aren't a fixed half-year: on every day you're there, look back over that day and the 179 before it — no more than 90 of them may have been spent in the area.
- The days you enter and leave both count, even if you're only there for a few hours.
- All Schengen countries count together — a week in France and a week in Italy is two weeks.
- Days come back gradually, 180 days after each day you spent there, so the date you can return for a long stay depends on exactly when your earlier trips were.
How to use it
Add each stay in the last 180 days, and any you've already planned. You'll see how many days you've used and have left today (or on a date you choose), and the earliest date you could enter for a full 90 days. Add your next trip's entry date to get the date you must leave by — and its exit date to check the whole trip.
Your stays are saved on this device, so you can come back and add your next trip. Nothing is sent to us.
Good to know
Overstaying can lead to fines, an entry ban and problems with future visa applications. The rule is for short stays without a long-stay visa or residence permit; some nationalities and bilateral agreements differ, so check official guidance before you travel. Your passport also needs to be valid for 3 months after you leave and issued within the last 10 years — check it with our passport validity checker.
